What is the Obamacare COVID-19 Special Enrollment Period 2021?

In accordance with the executive order by President Biden, the department announced a Specials Enrollment Period (SEP) for individuals and families for federal marketplace coverage in response to Covid-19.
Beginning February 15th, 2021 (through May 15th, 2021) the federal marketplace will make this SEP available to all marketplace eligible consumers.
Here are 3 key points for this Special Enrollment Period…
- Consumers will not need a Qualifying Life Event.
- After you enroll, coverage will begin the 1st of the following month
- Anyone with current marketplace coverage will be able to switch plans.
Remember, federal marketplace insurance plans are required by law to cover pre-existing conditions. If you are concerned about having health coverage, you should take advantage of this SEP.
