One of the newest features you may have seen in your healthcare plan is Telemedicine. This service allows you to speak with a doctor 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This idea was introduced years ago, but now, for obvious reasons, it is becoming increasingly more popular

Originally, these virtual doctor visits were designed to take care of minor acute illnesses such as: cold, flu, fever, upper respiratory infection, ear ache etc. However, with the COVID-19 crisis, many doctors are utilizing telemedicine to provide care for other health conditions such as mental health and therapy.

You might be surprised how effective these virtual visits can be, as a doctor can give you advice, write a doctor's note for work, and even send a prescription to your pharmacy if it’s appropriate. Check your current healthcare plan to see if you are already offered telemedicine. If not, there are many affordable products on the market (in most states) that will allow you take advantage of this cool new technology.
